O'o Awards to go Dynamic Sisters
‘O’O AWARD GOES TO DYNAMIC SISTERS
The Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce presented the coveted annual ‘O’o Award to Place’s Mary Philpotts McGrath and her sister, Alice Flanders Guild recently at a gala celebration held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The event, complete with an auction of art and crafts by Native Hawaiians, a hula halau, elegant poi supper and film about the duo by award winning filmmaker Edgy Lee, was meant to honor their years of service to the community.
Mary and Alice, surrounded by family and friends, accepted their award for their work both professionally and in community service ranging from the restoration of Iolani Palace and the leadership of the Washington Place Foundation to work on the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, the Honolulu Academy of Arts and Liliuokalani Trust.
Mary, as many of you know, is the creator of Place and the founder Honolulu’s premier design firm, Philpotts & Associates. She never stops looking for style and value wherever she goes – bringing it back for her clients and our Place atelier at 40 S. School St.
Don’t miss all the new things she found at High Point, North Carolina last month! They’ll be arriving throughout June & July. |
